As I sit in my office looking out at the snow and the frigid cold temperatures, I realize how fortunate I am to have a nice home, loving family and friends, and great clients that allow me to do what I love each and every day... helping others achieve their goals. Thank you!
December is a time of reflection over the past year of all that's been positive and maybe not so positive. We continue to me in tumultuous times. Our government's inability to align around the direction of our country, including spending, healthcare, and the list goes on. Not to mention, the ongoing wars, as well as, the economic and social turmoil happening around the world. When we look at our local communities in Northeast Wisconsin, we are very fortunate, and we often times forget that.
We have in the state of Wisconsin, many of which are in Northeast Wisconsin, 7 of the Top 220 Forbes largest privately held companies for 2012. None are probably a surprise: SC Johnson, Menard's, Kohler, Schreiber, ABC Supply, Ashley Furniture, and Shopko Stores. However, what that does say for our area is that there is a strong drive for entrepreneurship and ownership. Maybe it's the long winters and we don't have much else to focus on other than our businesses, but the strong work ethic, the unwillingness to give up and the drive to improve our lives and the lives of those around us, are woven into what is Northeast Wisconsin.
When times are difficult, we come together to support those around us, when we need help, we seek out those that can provide that assistance. Although we are a proud community, our general culture is that of coming together. We are hardy, resourceful, and full of heart.
I'm proud to be part of the business community and residential community of Northeast Wisconsin. It's been a wonderful place to raise our 3 children and has provided me and my husband opportunities to pursue our passions of owning our own businesses and doing what we love. With the support of this great community, we have and continue to enjoy that which is Northeast Wisconsin.....home!
Thank you for helping Journey Consulting achieve its 6th Anniversary, and I hope to have many more serving the businesses and communities of Northeast Wisconsin.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Make 2014 the best one yet!
